Mischa Maisky is a world famous cellist. He is the only musician to have studied with both Mstislav Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky. In 1965 his debut with the Leningrad Philharmonic earned him the nickname “Rostropovich of the Future”. Since then he has conquered stages all over the world by his expressive manner of playing, conspicuous appearance, wisdom, and inner freedom.
Mischa Maisky performs with the best musicians and most prominent orchestras, such as Philharmonic orchestras of Radio France, Munich, London, Copenhagen, Oslo and St. Petersburg, the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra, and others. He performed more than twenty concerts under the baton of Leonard Bernstein.
